Abstract

Despite the impact of the subprime mortgage crisis in North America, end-market demand for notebook PCs remained robust in the fourth quarter of 2007. Shipment focused on European and North American markets, and the number of consumer models continued to grow. Driven by the increasing demand for notebook PCs in China, the shipment growth in the Asia-Pacific region was ahead of other regions in the fourth quarter. Greater Chinese notebook PC shipment volume is estimated at 27.6 million units in the fourth quarter of 2007, up 38.7% year-on-year. For the full year 2007, Greater Chinese notebook PC shipment volume is estimated at 90.2 million units, up 42.08% annually.
